A Exposição Universal da Matriz Portuguesa® possui um âmbito universal sobre os Portugueses do Passado e do Presente, os Descobrimentos e a Expansão Marítima de Portugal, os seus feitos e o seu contributo para a Matriz e a Língua Portuguesa no Mundo, através do Conhecimento, Valor, Arrebatamento e do seu Relacionamento com outras Culturas e outras Gentes.

A Exposição Universal da Matriz Portuguesa® tem o Estatuto de Interesse Cultural concedido pelo Ministério da Cultura.

Objectivos

• Divulgar o papel histórico de Portugal no Mundo através das suas relações históricas, culturais, económicas, diplomáticas e políticas.
• Apoiar, ao nível cultural, a retoma do interesse turístico e institucional de Portugal.
• Promover os interesses e valores de Portugal no espaço lusófono, europeu e mundial.
• Criar percursos expositivos com conteúdos de teor cultural, científico e histórico, entre Portugal e o Mundo, disponibilizando uma ligação tecnológica para fomentar uma interacção com os públicos dos outros pontos do Mundo através de troca de impressões, ficheiros digitais de imagens e outros relativos à exposição e eventos que aí ocorram - criando as "Rotas da Matriz Portuguesa".

Criar as fundações para:

• O futuro Centro Histórico Virtual da Matriz Portuguesa - Das Origens de Portugal à Esfera Lusófona da Actualidade;
• A realização da iniciativa cultural anual Capital da Matriz Portuguesa. 

The Universal Exhibition of the Portuguese Matrix® has a universal scope on the Portuguese of the Past and Present, the Discoveries and the Maritime Expansion of Portugal, their accomplishments and their contribution to the Matrix and the Portuguese Language in the World, through Knowledge, Value, Rapture and its Relationship with other Cultures and other People.

The Universal Exhibition of the Portuguese Matrix® has the Statute of Cultural Interest granted by the Ministry of Culture.

Purposes

• Disseminate Portugal's historic role in the world through its historical, cultural, economic, diplomatic and political relationships.
• Support, at a cultural level, the recovery of tourism and institutional interest in Portugal.
• Promote Portugal's interests and values in the Portuguese-speaking, European and World Sphere.
• Create exhibition routes with cultural, scientific and historical content, between Portugal and the World, providing a technological link to encourage interaction with audiences from other parts of the World through the exchange of impressions, digital image files and others related to the exhibition and events that take place there - creating the "Portuguese Matrix Routes".

Create the foundations for:

• The future Virtual Historic Center of the Portuguese Matrix - From the Origins of Portugal to the Lusophone Sphere of Today;
• To carry out the annual cultural initiative Capital da Matriz Portuguesa.
